placing art

The phrase “ how you see is who you are” attractively ties the experience of landscape to personal identity. To have any type of paintings in my own space would be all landscape paintings. I found out that our connection to landscape is also a mirror of our relationship with each other. How we see is to a certain extent a register of scope, a register of those things that one is willing to adit to onself. It is impossible to enjoy a landscape without seeing it, or having seen it. The emotions, which landscape provokes in. Landscape painting has developedf through a never ending debate between formality and naturalism, between propriety and free expression. Whenever intellect and perception exist in fierce concert with one another, there is vision, a quality of insight that informs and transforms what we see.
Is based on the individual to see the pictures of landscape, in my own space it would all only be landscape paintings, art must be based on one single dominating idea, an idea that will control all nuances of relationship into single expression. Its never just one idea or one mood in the paintings, that in my own spaces the expression changes with the person, not with the paintings.

Pomona Art walk

Cabrera's gallery was located at the end of the 2nd street, the outside building was a church like design, where she shows her drawings, paintings and other art objects in the front froyer occasionally displaying the works of artist friends.
she does some really nice day of the dead art, whimsical paintings, and beautiful jewelry. besides being so talented, she really is a sweet person. the kind of person you instantly feel like you've known for years.
through the artist we found out that she was trained and worked as a picture framer. today she attends and participate in many art trade shows and professional picture framer's association conventions, meeting and competitions.

Her whole gallery was just extremely colorful with a special scent, is one of the gallaries that i found to have a distinct character of its own.

the play of light and shade and the woman's slender figure represents the catch of this picture. concept of " irradiation".
the light and dark tone usually enhance each other, to make the picture stands out. although the facial expression was not showing, the mood of the drawing was clearly stated.
Josse van Craesbeek ( Flemish, Antwerp 1645)

Pomona Art walk

I visited the Pomona Art walk the last Saturday of January metro night. Which most of the galleries was closed on Garey ave. and 2nd street. This is my second time visiting the Pomona art walk, and one of my favorites was the A.S. Ashley studios.
The artist's painting are usually on topics with political, cultural and social imagery. Ashley's paintings present the emblematic society. The subject are from Greek art to Catholicism, Neo Classical rendering of film, pop, and political icons. Ashley often applies a broad range of painting styles and techniques to give a unique naturalism to otherwise conflicting subjects. The studio was designed on a living room set, the above painting is called "the great one" acrylic on canvas.
Rather than serving a captive and sympathetic audience, the artist prefers the spontaneity and chance that goes with " street " art performances.
I like all of his paintings that they are realistic, to the point and up front on the characters in the paintings. which is like the visual type, concerned with depicting outer world by visual imagery, objective, realist, and impressionist forms and colors.

The painting on the right is called venus de heyzeu one of his famous art work. the venus was on a cross with hands add on. The artist are concerned with projecting inner world by symbolic imagery, subjective, conceptual, symbolic, and expressionist forms and colors. The result of experiments are often confusing, especially when attempts are made to make traditional personality types correspond to traditional divisions in style of art.
